Irina Rîngaci qualifies for 2024 Paris Olympics
Moldovan wrestler Irina Rîngaci has qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Moldova1 reports.
Rîngaci earned the right to compete in the world's most prestigious sporting event after winning a bronze medal at the World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. She competed in the 68-kilogram weight class and defeated Japanese wrestler Ami Ishii in the fight for the prestigious distinction.
This brings Rîngaci's medal count at the World Championships for seniors to three. She also finished third in 2022 and won the gold medal in 2021.
Rîngaci is qualifying for the Olympics for the first time. She is the second Moldovan wrestler to qualify for the 2024 Olympics. Anastasia Nichita also qualified for the Paris Games after becoming the world silver medalist.
