According to him, international vaccine manufacturers are currently working on developing a combined immunisation preparation against influenza and COVID-19 infection.

*"The SARS-CoV-2 virus could become seasonal, although COVID did not manifest itself seasonally, it manifested itself in waves. Each wave has been driven by a new strain of SARS-CoV-2 virus, but it could become a virus, let's call it seasonal, to make it understandable to the population. Moreover, there are some manufacturers who are actually working on producing a combined influenza-COVID vaccine and we could have that product as well. It will be like the flu vaccine, which is intended for ages 6 months to 90 years,"* explained Nicolae Furtună.

Nicolae Furtună added that immunisation against the coronavirus is vital, as infected patients could die from complications.
