# Ukrainian Defence Minister reveals details of the start of military counter-offensive

Reznikov named three key factors for a successful counteroffensive: the availability of weapons, ready and trained defenders who know their plan, and providing the offensive with all the necessary things.

*"Today we are entering the last minute, when we can say: 'yes, everything is ready'. Later, depending on the situation on the battlefield, the General Staff, the Commander-in-Chief and his team will decide how, where and when,"* the Ukrainian Defence Minister said.

UNIAN notes that the West is working hard to prepare the Ukrainian military for a counter-offensive, which President Volodimir Zelenski has said will include liberating Crimea.

Right now, for obvious reasons, it is not known when and where the full-scale operation to clear territory will begin, but the West believes it will start in May-June.
