# Chisinau: A 10-year-old child died after he was hit by a car right on the pedestrian crossing

> A 10-year-old child died following a serious road accident last night on Dacia Boulevard in the Botanica sector of Chisinau. It happened around 18:50. A "Lincoln" car, driven by a 22-year-old man, hit the boy while he was crossing the street on the pedestrian crossing.

The child was rescued and transported to the hospital for medical care, but he died as a result of the injuries he received. A criminal trial was initiated on the case to establish all the circumstances.
In this context, the police come with a repeated call for drivers.
“Exercise caution and reduce speed around pedestrian crossings, even if no one appears to be crossing. A second is all it takes to destroy your own life, but also that of innocent people," the police message reads.
