# Balti: The number of  COVID-19 cases is increasing

> The number of infections with COVID-19 is increasing in the municipality of Balti. Just last week, 25 cases were registered, compared to August, where up to 6 cases were registered weekly, the deputy head of the Balti Public Health Center, Virgil Manole, told Radio Moldova.

"Out of 25 cases, eight are children. In all cases, we have a more average state of health. We can mention that, of all the people who suffered and are registered, six people are vaccinated. The increase in the number is due to the reopening of educational institutions", said Virgil Manole.

Virgil Manole also says that most patients are treated at home under the supervision of their family doctor. Specialists say that one of the causes of the high number of infections would be non-compliance with protection rules.

The National Public Health Agency  announced last week that the number of cases of COVID-19 increased fivefold in August, compared to July, with more than 520 illnesses recorded.
