This commitment was solidified during a recent meeting between Moldovan Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu and his Danish counterpart, Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

**A Platform for Progress**

Rasmussen's visit also marked the official opening of the Danish embassy in Chisinau, symbolising a deepening of bilateral ties. *"The embassy will give us an even better platform to assist you in your path towards the European Union,"* Rasmussen stated, highlighting Denmark's unwavering support for Moldova's European aspirations.

**Concrete Support, Tangible Results**

Popescu expressed his gratitude for Denmark's dedication, acknowledging the "excellent" relationship between the two nations. He pointed to the 37 Danish-owned companies operating in Moldova, with investments exceeding 66 million lei, as concrete examples of this fruitful partnership. Moldova's exports of fresh and dried fruits, bakery products, and wines to Denmark further solidify the economic connection.

**NATO and Beyond**

The two ministers also emphasised their alignment on various international issues, including their firm condemnation of Russian aggression in Ukraine. Popescu lauded Denmark's active role in NATO, recognizing its significance for strengthening Moldova's security infrastructure.

**A Look Ahead**

This latest development marks a significant step forward in the Moldova-Denmark relationship. With the embassy now serving as a bridge for enhanced cooperation, both countries are poised to benefit from closer collaboration in the political, economic, and cultural spheres.
