The platform was established in order to *"improve the coordination of policies in the field of corruption and related issues,"* according to a statement from the Ministry of Justice. It will also facilitate communication and cooperation between institutions.

At the launch event, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that *"the fight against corruption is both a commitment to the European Union and a key priority of the government. This fight strengthens institutions and makes all reform processes in the justice sector irreversible."*

The Justice Ministry said that the platform will be used to *"examine the most important issues in the anti-corruption sector, discuss draft legislation, and coordinate efforts to implement commitments, EU recommendations, and Council of Europe monitoring mechanisms."*

The members of the Anti-Corruption Platform will be the General Prosecutor's Office, specialised prosecutors' offices, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Anti-Corruption Center, the Financial Intelligence Service, the Intelligence and Security Service, and the National Integrity Authority. It has also been proposed to include a representative from the Supreme Court of Justice as a member.
