**Call for Unity:**

In an interview, Gherman stressed the referendum's potential to unite pro-EU parties, arguing it holds greater importance than past political agreements like the Snagov Pact. She emphasised that the referendum enshrines the people's will in law, making it a powerful tool.

**Testing Commitment:**

Gherman believes the referendum will reveal the true commitments of those claiming to be pro-European. It will distinguish between genuine support for EU membership and mere lip service. She expects the process to expose parties with differing agendas who may currently mask their stance.

**Referendum Advantages:**

Combining the referendum with the upcoming presidential election offers several advantages, argues Gherman. This approach could boost voter turnout, save around 200 million lei, and offer pro-European parties a platform to advocate for EU membership and explain its benefits directly to citizens.
