The head of the Kiev Cabinet urged the United States to pass a multi-billion-dollar bill in Congress to strengthen Ukraine's defence, stating that this funding is urgently needed to assist his country in defending itself.

The proposed aid package includes $61 billion, of which approximately $23.2 billion would be allocated to replenish American military stocks and infrastructure. Additionally, the bill includes funds for Israel and the Indo-Pacific region.

The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the bill on Saturday.

Shmyhal informed the BBC in Washington that *"the global security system will be destroyed"* if Ukraine is defeated, cautioning that this could lead to *"further conflicts"* and ultimately to a Third World War.

American President Joe Biden stated that he will promptly sign the legislative package upon its adoption by Congress, emphasising that it will convey a message to the world that the United States *"stand with our friends."*
