# Moldovan Apple Exports Surge: EU Market Booms

According to the Moldova Fruct Association, these apples reached markets in over 30 countries worldwide. 

The source reports a notable increase in export volume compared to the previous season (2022-2023). Notably, apple exports to the European Union nearly doubled, with Romania being the top destination, accounting for a staggering 90% share. 

There was also a positive development in exports to the Middle East, which grew from 6,000 tons in 2022-2023 to over 8,000 tons in the current season.  

Furthermore, Moldova has successfully expanded its export reach to new markets like Sweden, Great Britain, and Israel.  A trial shipment of apples even reached India, signifying potential for further market diversification.
