Speaking via videoconference at a meeting with Russian politicians, including the governors of the Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk regions, Putin declared that the *“security problems”* in Kursk are *“the responsibility of the security forces.”*

The Russian president further stated that Moscow will work with *“local and regional authorities”* and *“security agencies”* to *“play a positive role in achieving our objectives here.”*

It should be noted that Kiev's troops launched a surprise offensive into the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, earlier this month, prompting the regional governor to declare a state of emergency.

According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine has captured over 90 Russian settlements in Kursk.
