# Accident in Strășeni: 72-year-old man dies after driver swerves to avoid deer

One person lost their life in a serious accident on the R-1 road near Pănășești, Strașeni. According to the police, the tragedy occurred this morning at around 05:00.

Preliminary data indicate that a 38-year-old man driving a truck lost control of his vehicle while attempting to avoid hitting a deer. This caused him to veer into oncoming traffic, resulting in a violent collision with a truck driven by a 72-year-old man.

Sadly, the driver of the truck died at the scene. A breathalyzer test performed on the 38-year-old truck driver revealed no alcohol.

A criminal case was opened to thoroughly investigate the circumstances of the accident.
