# Truck driver from Moldova involved in an accident in Iași: two people dead

> A truck, operated by a driver from the Republic of Moldova, overturned in the commune of Bălțați, Iași County, after colliding with a car that was travelling the wrong way. The driver of the car, a 36-year-old man, died at the scene. A 19-year-old woman who was also in the car suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest and did not respond to resuscitation efforts.

A truck, operated by a driver from the Republic of Moldova, overturned in the commune of Bălțați, Iași County, after colliding with a car that was travelling the wrong way. The driver of the car, a 36-year-old man, died at the scene. A 19-year-old woman who was also in the car suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest and did not respond to resuscitation efforts.

The accident occurred on the afternoon of October 28. According to the Romanian Police, a 36-year-old man from the commune of Rediu, while driving a car on DN 28, collided with a truck driven from the opposite direction by a 55-year-old driver from the Republic of Moldova.

The driver of the truck was tested with a breathalyzer, the result being negative.

The press from Romania states that the young woman who died in the accident worked at a restaurant in the Târgu Frumos area and was allegedly picked up by the driver of the car.

The driver from the Republic of Moldova, a 55-year-old man, was slightly injured and refused transport to the hospital.
