Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu will address Parliament this Friday, April 24, to request the termination of the national energy state of emergency.

Starting April 25, the government proposes transitioning to a 60-day "state of alert" to maintain long-term security. The move signals a stabilization of the country's power supply following a critical month.

**Infrastructure recovery**

The emergency mandate was originally enacted on March 24 after targeted strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure damaged the Isaccea-Vulcănești high-voltage line.

This line serves as Moldova’s primary energy artery from Romania. Technical teams restored the interconnection at an unprecedented pace, fully re-establishing supply capacity by March 28.

**Precautionary measures**

The Energy Minister and the National Crisis Management Center (CNMC) chief will join the PM to outline the transition.

The 60-day alert status allows authorities to respond swiftly to potential market fluctuations without the restrictive measures of a full emergency. This shift follows weeks of high-risk warnings regarding peak-hour power shortages.
