Residents of the capital will pay over one leu more for drinking water and sewage services after the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) approved new tariffs at a public meeting on August 4.

The price of drinking water has increased to 14.03 lei per cubic meter, up from 12.99 lei.

For household consumers, the sewage tariff is now set at 6.63 lei per cubic meter, while non-household consumers will continue to pay 10.16 lei per cubic meter.

As a result, household consumers in Chisinau will pay a total of 20.66 lei for one cubic meter of water and sewage. This reflects an increase of 1.04 lei for each cubic meter consumed.

Additionally, a new tariff of 7.66 lei per cubic meter has been approved for the public service of technological water supply, down from the previous rate of 12.23 lei.

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) stated that during its review, it assessed each category of expenses and only accepted justified and necessary costs for the provision of services. The recalculations were made in accordance with the tariff methodology, excluding any expenses that do not meet legal requirements.

Water prices have also risen in other localities. In Ocnița, the approved tariff is 30.20 lei per cubic meter, an increase from the previous rate of 30.17 lei. In Căușeni, the new tariff is set at 18.06 lei per cubic meter, up from 16.69 lei.

The new tariffs will take effect on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
