State energy trader Energocom announced that Moldova's electricity needs for Monday, August 10, are fully covered. The company procured a total of 10,502 megawatt-hours (MWh) to meet national consumption.

**Import dependency and energy mix**

Bilateral import contracts account for 65.45% of the total volume, while local renewable sources cover 28.71%.

The remaining balance is sourced from Romania’s day-ahead market via OPCOM and the Romanian Commodities Exchange (4.54%), along with local combined heat and power plants (1.29%).

**Regional price pressures and conservation**

While daily demand is satisfied, Energocom warned that the regional market situation remains challenging. External electricity prices stay high, particularly during peak demand hours.

*"Moldova is part of the regional energy market and heavily depends on imports,"* Energocom stated. *"When regional deficits occur, they directly affect the volumes we can purchase."*

Authorities urged citizens to consume electricity responsibly, particularly between 18:00 and 23:00, and to shift energy-intensive appliances to off-peak hours.

**State of alert remains in effect**

Moldova entered a 30-day state of alert in the energy and hydrological sectors on July 28.

The measure was triggered by bottlenecks in petroleum supply chains and critically low water levels in the Nistru River, which affect hydroelectric generation capacity.
