Two paid parking lots, designed to accommodate up to 150 cars, will be established at the entrance of the International Exhibition Center "Moldexpo." The first parking facility is expected to open by the end of September, with a maximum rate of 40 lei per hour, as announced by the institution's interim director, Zinaida Popa, during a press conference on August 13.

The current improvised parking lot in front of the exhibition complex will be replaced with a well-designed space. Parking fees will be up to 40 lei per hour, with the first half hour free of charge.

“This project has been developed in response to the requests and needs of the community and aims to address a significant problem. While we cannot resolve the parking issue for the entire Chisinau municipality, which has a deficit of over 220,000 spaces, we want to improve the area around our center by creating two parking lots that will collectively provide up to 150 spaces,” stated Zinaida Popa.

In the first phase, within the next two months, the initial parking lot will be put into operation. It will be located on the left side of the entrance to the complex and will accommodate approximately 70 vehicles.

“Starting next week, we will begin installing payment equipment, laying out parking spaces, and setting up the electrical network. We hope to have the project completed and functional by the end of September,” added the interim director of Moldexpo.

The total cost of the project is approximately five million lei, which includes VAT. Additionally, two million lei is allocated for related landscaping works.

The second parking lot is expected to have 70 to 80 spaces, although the exact opening date has not yet been announced.

Beyond the parking project, the management of the Moldexpo Center plans to develop sports fields for paddle and volleyball. They also intend to create a recreational pedestrian pathway that will directly connect the exhibition complex to Valea Morilor Park.
