The Ministry of Education and Research has opened the second admission round for secondary vocational education and training (VET). Between August 20 and 28, 2026, prospective students can apply for roughly 2,400 state-funded places across vocational schools nationwide.

**First round results**

Nearly 6,000 students secured admission in the initial phase, with 5,829 filling government-subsidized slots. This represents a 70% occupancy rate across 8,325 state-funded seats in 46 institutions.

High-demand programs reached full capacity immediately, including auto body repair, confectionery production, and mobile crane operation. Programs for automated warehouse operators, auto electricians, and barbers also saw enrollment rates above 90%.

**Dual VET leads demand**

The dual education model, combining theoretical instruction with hands-on company training, emerged as the most popular track.

During the first round, students filled 1,710 of the 2,301 available dual VET budget slots (74.3%). Applicants still have 591 dual study seats open for the second round.

**Available fields and locations**

The second phase covers construction, engineering, light industry, catering, electricity, and IT support.

Most remaining state-funded seats are located in regional centers and ATU Gagauzia (1,361), followed by Chisinau (833) and Balti (302). Top open trades include welder-assemblers (230), garment workers (158), plasters (119), and auto mechanics (97).

**Eligibility and application process**

Graduates with a lower secondary education diploma can enter three-year programs. Two-year tracks are open to applicants regardless of whether they passed the lower secondary graduation exam.

Candidates can submit their applications in person at their chosen institution or online via the e-Admitere government portal.

The state also provides specialized support and a 40% higher per-student funding rate at six institutions adapted for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
