# Tour of Romania Cycling in Moldova: Map and road restrictions for September 9

> On September 9, several national road sections will be restricted from 09:40 to 15:50 as part of the first stage of the 2026 Tour of Romania Cycling Tour in Moldova. The competition will start in Chisinau and finish in Ungheni, both located in the Republic of Moldova. The restrictions will be implemented sequentially, depending on the cycling caravan's movement, which is scheduled to arrive in Bucharest on September 13.

On September 9, several national road sections will be restricted from 09:40 to 15:50 as part of the first stage of the 2026 Tour of Romania Cycling Tour in Moldova. The competition will start in Chisinau and finish in Ungheni, both located in the Republic of Moldova. The restrictions will be implemented sequentially, depending on the cycling caravan's movement, which is scheduled to arrive in Bucharest on September 13.

The State Road Administration announces that traffic will be temporarily halted on the sections of the route designated for the cycling competition. This closure will begin approximately 30 minutes before the cyclists arrive and will remain in effect until about 30 minutes after the last vehicle in the caravan passes through.

Depending on how the race progresses, the duration of any restrictions may be extended if the peloton fragments or if circumstances arise that necessitate maintaining safety measures.

We remind you that the specified time intervals are approximate, as the peloton's arrival time at each location depends on the race's pace and development.

In light of this, authorities are urging traffic participants to plan their trips in advance for September 9, considering the temporary restrictions along the competition route. It is advisable to avoid the affected road sectors and choose alternative routes.

The Tour of Romania 2026 will debut in the Republic of Moldova. The competition will kick off with the official presentation of the participating teams on September 8 in the capital, with the festive start of the race scheduled for the following day at 10:00 AM from the Square of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre "Maria Biesu."

According to the organizers, Chisinau will host the start of the first stage of the 2026 edition. The peloton will cover approximately 100 kilometers through the districts of Ialoveni, Hâncești, Strășeni, and Călărași before reaching the finish line in Ungheni.

The competition will officially begin on September 8, with the presentation of the participating teams in Chisinau. This event will provide spectators the opportunity to meet the cyclists and staff from the international teams before the race starts.

The organizers encourage residents of the Republic of Moldova to come out and support the athletes along the route.

The competition program includes the team presentation in Chisinau on September 8, the Chisinau–Ungheni stage on September 9, followed by the Iași–Piatra Neamț stage on September 10, the Piatra Neamț–Băile Balvanyos stage on September 11, the Brașov–Ploiești stage on September 12, and the final circuit in Bucharest on September 13.
