The Border Police of the Republic of Moldova recorded a series of illegal overflights of national airspace on the morning of September 19, 2026. Authorities have not identified any debris or a potential explosion site.

## Overflights, but no explosions

The Border Police announce that, following search and verification operations conducted in the area of Troițcoe, Cimișlia, authorities have not identified any fragments or the site of a potential explosion within the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

At the same time, the Ukrainian side reported that the site of an explosion, as well as unidentified fragments, had been located within Ukrainian territory, approximately 1,200 meters from the state border line.

The Border Police continue to monitor the situation in the border area and maintain an operational exchange of information with Ukrainian authorities.

Border Police surveillance missions detected the first unidentified aircraft around 04:00 near the village of Căplani, in the Ștefan Vodă district. Two of them crossed the country's airspace along the Olănești–Cistovodnoe trajectory.

During the same timeframe, another aircraft was spotted over Căplani, moving from the direction of Crocmaz and subsequently leaving national territory along the Căplani–Crutoiarovca path.

Shortly thereafter, Ukrainian authorities notified the Moldovan side about the crash of an unidentified object near the border.

"At 05:19, the Ukrainian side informed the Border Police that the fall of an object—followed by it catching fire—had been observed approximately two kilometers from the state border, in the area outside the village of Troițcoe. A Border Police patrol deployed to the site, and checks in the sector are currently underway to establish the circumstances and identify any potential fragments or fallen objects," Border Police representatives announced.

Amidst the ongoing checks, authorities issued a warning to the population in border areas. Citizens are urged to exercise extreme caution and avoid direct contact with any suspicious objects found outside the villages.

"We advise citizens that, should they discover unknown objects or fragments, they should not approach or touch them and should avoid the area. Any such situation must be reported immediately to the 112 emergency service," the institution's official statement reads.

Early Friday morning, at 4:20 AM, residents of villages surrounding Chișinău were awakened by an explosion. It occurred on a hill near the village of Colonița.

Police reported that, after inspecting a site near Colonița (in the Chișinău municipality), they found fragments believed to be from a drone. Authorities found several components, including the device's engine, within a radius of about 100 meters of the blast site.
