# Defense Ministry refutes reports of airspace intrusion in Moldova

Moldova's Ministry of Defense denied reports of an unauthorized airspace breach on Sunday following overnight alerts from residents who claimed to have seen suspected drones and explosions in two central districts.

**No evidence found after nighttime alerts**

*“According to available data, no unauthorized overflights of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova were recorded during the referenced timeframe,”* the Ministry of Defense said in an official statement. Defense officials urged citizens to consult official and credible sources and to avoid circulating unverified claims.

The ministry's clarification followed police alerts during the early hours of September 20 across the Orhei and Călărași districts. At approximately 01:50 AM, a resident of Berezlogi in Orhei reported observing a drone-like flying object in the sky. Ten minutes later, around 02:00 AM, a resident in Dereneu, Călărași, alerted emergency services after seeing a bright aerial flash accompanied by a blast sound.

Police units immediately deployed to inspect both locations, searching open fields and the outskirts of the settlements. Preliminary investigations yielded no debris, impact marks, or fires confirming a ground explosion or a fallen object.
