# Eight killed as 138 Russian drones pummel Ukraine's critical network

**Deadly strikes on Kramatorsk and evacuation hub**

Russian forces launched two consecutive strikes on the eastern city of Kramatorsk, killing a woman and wounding a man. Subsequent shelling struck a local evacuation facility, injuring two more people.

*“They hit the Kramatorsk evacuation centre, where we continuously bring people. There are casualties. It is the height of cynicism. Six people from Druzhkivka had arrived today, and now people are wounded again,”* said an eyewitness.

A local resident recounted the panic following the blast in her apartment block.

*“I was in an apartment on the seventh floor when the explosion shattered the windows. I rushed onto the balcony and heard young people shouting for help. I got dressed quickly, grabbed my bag, and went down. I saw two seriously wounded young people being assisted by passersby,”* said Irina.

**Widespread aerial barrage targets transport and fuel networks**

Across the country, Russian forces launched 138 attack drones overnight, with air defense units shooting down approximately 100 incoming unmanned aerial vehicles. In Kyiv Oblast, four people, including three children, died in a localized drone assault.

Widespread damage and casualties also occurred across Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk, while rail infrastructure was damaged in Vinnytsia Oblast. In Odessa, drone strikes ignited a blaze at a local enterprise, destroying three fuel tankers and hitting a delivery vehicle belonging to state postal operator Ukrposhta as it transported pensions and medical supplies.

The barrage highlights an intensifying campaign against fuel logistics. Russian air raids have damaged or destroyed more than 300 petrol stations across Ukraine over the past six months, leaving frontier areas severely undersupplied.

*“When they attacked the station here, I took several jerrycans and drove to Poltava, 50 kilometers away, to fill them up. I bought 300 liters of petrol just in case, because you never know what comes next,”* said a local motorist.
