# French Park in Ungheni is taking shape

> Work on developing the French Park in Ungheni is progressing. Workers are currently building access paths, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and sports grounds, and have already installed hundreds of meters of water supply and sewage networks. The project involves developing four hectares of the park's total area, which exceeds 11 hectares. According to the Ungheni City Hall, most of the existing vegetation will be preserved and integrated into the recreation areas.

Work on developing the French Park in Ungheni is progressing. Workers are currently building access paths, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and sports grounds, and have already installed hundreds of meters of water supply and sewage networks. The project involves developing four hectares of the park's total area, which exceeds 11 hectares. According to the Ungheni City Hall, most of the existing vegetation will be preserved and integrated into the recreation areas.

So far, crews have constructed 623 meters of underground water mains and 405 meters of sewage lines. Work is ongoing on pedestrian walkways, retention ponds, and the earthworks for sports fields.

Landscaping work is scheduled for the coming period. This autumn, new trees and shrubs will be planted, and urban furniture will be installed, alongside an upgrade to the lighting system using LED lamps.

The park will feature courts for football, basketball, volleyball, and tennis, as well as a padel court. The project also includes a parkour area, a pump track for bicycles and scooters, and a children's playground.

The Mayor of Ungheni, Vitalie Vrabie, recently visited the construction site to inspect the current progress and the upcoming phases of work.

The park's development is being carried out under two projects: "Regeneration of the French Park in Ungheni Municipality through the integration of green and smart solutions" and the "UCare" project, funded by the European Union through the Interreg NEXT "Black Sea Basin" Programme.

The total investment value exceeds 33.5 million lei, and the projects are scheduled to run for 24 months.
