President Maia Sandu sent a congratulatory message to teachers on the occasion of Teachers' Day, highlighting the role of education in a world shaped by the development of artificial intelligence, disinformation, and rapid changes in the labor market. The Head of State commended educators' work and dedication, noting that the teaching profession requires great patience, energy, and commitment.

"Today’s children will live in a world vastly different from the one in which we grew up—one marked by changes that are difficult to foresee. They will enter a labor market where artificial intelligence will be able to take over an increasing number of tasks currently performed by humans. Therefore, schools must equip them not only with solid knowledge but also with the ability to think critically, ask questions, find solutions, and adapt. They must be taught to distinguish truth from manipulation and to use artificial intelligence as a tool, rather than a substitute for their own intellectual effort", noted Maia Sandu.

The President also emphasized the need to develop digital skills. She stated that students must learn to distinguish truth from manipulation and use artificial intelligence as a tool, without letting it replace their own intellectual effort.

In the President's view, the state must create better conditions in schools, reduce bureaucracy, and provide professional development opportunities and salaries that reflect the importance of the teaching profession, given the challenges teachers face. Maia Sandu also spoke about the need for closer collaboration between schools and families.

"Teachers need the respect and support of society. Schools and families must be partners. Only together can we prepare our children for the world of tomorrow," the head of state concluded.
