A historic cellar was uncovered in Leova during sidewalk reconstruction works, and local authorities plan to preserve its entrance and develop the site as a tourist attraction.

**Historic entrance to be preserved**

To allow sidewalk renovation works to continue, workers will lay the paving over a temporary concrete slab, preserving access to the historic cellar.

The local authorities plan to develop the site as a tourist attraction after consulting the National Archaeological Agency, Mayor Alexandru Bujorean said in a social media post.

*“Another historic cellar has been discovered in Leova during sidewalk reconstruction works. This entrance will be preserved (...), and following consultations with the National Archaeological Agency, this location will become a new tourist attraction for the town,”* Bujorean wrote.

The mayor ended his post with the words: *“History is making its way through. Beautiful!”*
