The Republic of Moldova borrows 25 million dollars for fixing irrigation systems
The Republic of Moldova borrows 25 million dollars for fixing irrigation systems. An agreement to this effect will be signed on May 10 between the World Bank and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry from Chisinau.

The relevant minister, Vladimir Bolea, recently said on Moldova 1 TV that the authorities must invest in irrigation systems, because drought has become a common phenomenon for our country.
"On May 10, the Ministry of Culture will sign a 55 million loan with the World Bank, of which 25 million will go exclusively for the restoration of irrigation systems. We have very advanced discussions with the French Investment Agency. Another 40 million euros are expected for small-scale irrigation or large-scale irrigation systems. Our investment projects and programs in the restoration of irrigation systems in the Republic of Moldova are a priority and we are for this in the current year alone, about 65 million euros will be directly invested in agriculture in the Republic Moldova. The distribution of funds for irrigation will be done through AIPA or ADMA", said the minister.
The Republic of Moldova has 60 thousand hectares of irrigated land out of a total of 2 million.
