Nicu Popescu: In about two weeks, the Chisinau authorities will send the report to the European Commission regarding the degree of preparation for accession

The Chisinau authorities will send to the European Commission, in about two weeks, a report on the degree of preparation and speed of integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European Union. The statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, during a show on Moldova 1 TV.

According to the diplomat, for the elaboration of the report, 33 groups were formed in which more than 500 people are trained, which are finalizing the document these days. "A good part of our diplomats, as well as colleagues from all ministries, are fully trained in the writing of this report, which we are going to send to the European Commission in less than 2 weeks, and this report is very important to ensure a pace supported by accession to the European Union to write this report, but also to manage the process of accession to the European Union. We have reorganized part of our public administration. We created 33 working groups that prepare Moldova for accession negotiations. More than 500 officials are included. They elaborated their contributions to the European Commission's report and absolutely all embassies will be involved in promoting our accession to the European Union", declared Nicu Popescu.

Nicu Popescu also emphasized that the Republic of Moldova is supported by the European partners and gives us all the necessary support to start the accession negotiations to the community bloc.

We remind you that the Republic of Moldova obtained the status of a candidate country for the EU in June last year. On March 23, the European Council reaffirmed the fact that the European Union will continue to provide all relevant support to the Republic of Moldova to strengthen the resilience, security, stability and economy of the country to help it on its path to EU accession.
