Moldovagaz's debt of over one billion lei to Energocom has been repaid

Moldovagaz has paid back in full the loan of 1.05 billion lei taken from Energocom last October, for which all the movable assets that are part of the natural gas transmission network, as well as the entire share of Moldovatransgaz Ltd. were pledged, Energocom announced in a press release.

This loan was due on May 1, according to the provision of the Commission for Exceptional Situations.

Moldovagaz still has around 80 million lei of interest to pay.

In October last year, the Commission for Exceptional Situations decided that Energocom would grant a loan of 1.5 billion lei to Moldovagaz without the prior approval of the boards and/or general assemblies of the companies.

The real guarantee for the repayment of the loan and the payment of interest was the full pledge, in favour of "Energocom", of the 100% share of "Moldovagaz" in the share capital of "Moldovatransgaz" Ltd. together with any assets transferred to its economic management by "Moldovagaz".
