Mircea Geoană: We believe that the next few months will be militarily intense in Ukraine
NATO anticipates a Ukrainian counteroffensive in the coming months based on the training Ukrainian troops have received from Alliance member countries. The statement was made by NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană in an interview with Antena3.ro.
He also said that even under these conditions Russia remains a danger.
"We believe that the next few months will be militarily intense in Ukraine. Maybe, after six months, we will have a slightly clearer picture, depending on the answer to this question which is the real ratio of forces on the battlefield to have a more precise answer. I don't want to give too optimistic signals, we believe that this fighting will continue, something we are also helping the Ukrainians, we are trying to shorten the war because peace is something we are all waiting for", said Mircea Geoană.
Mircea Geoană also said that the North Atlantic Alliance is determined to support Ukraine with all the necessary weapons and equipment to face the Russian invasion and to liberate the territories from the Russian military.
