Chisinau City Hall asks the Government for help in the context of preparations for the European Political Community meeting. The Executive's reaction
The Chisinau City Hall will provide the necessary support to the central authorities for the organisation of the European Political Community Summit on 1 June, Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban announced today at an operational meeting of the Chisinau City Hall.
At the same time, the mayor requested that several streets in the capital be repaired with the direct help of the Government.
"We know that many delegations will arrive in Chisinau. We are going to rehabilitate everything that is inside the city, but it would be very good if these roads could be rehabilitated with the support of the Government", said Mayor Ion Ceban.
In a reaction, Government spokesman Daniel Voda said that all the preparatory work for this international event is aimed at improving conditions for citizens, including after the event hosted by our country.
"We remind Chisinau City Hall that it has delegated a representative to the Organizing Committee of the European Political Committee Summit. All the preparatory work for this international event is aimed at improving conditions for citizens, including after the event hosted by our country. We invite the Chisinau City Hall to work in the existing formats in order to achieve concrete results for the benefit of the people and to refrain from populist statements," said Daniel Voda.
On 1 June, the second European Political Community Summit will be held in Moldova, which will be the most important international event hosted by our country since its independence.
Fifty heads of state and government will meet in Chisinau to discuss common efforts for peace in the context of the war in Ukraine and related crises, the defence of democracy, the strengthening of energy security and the resilience of European states.
