MAI: Waiting time at the border crossing point Leuseni-Albița reduced by two times
Border control times have been cut twice after the launch five days ago of the new coordinated control system at Leuseni-Albița, the Interior Ministry (MAI) reports.
In the context of the measures launched by the border authorities to ease the flow of passengers and goods during the Easter holidays, the movement of passengers and goods at the state border is proceeding normally. Slight congestion has been recorded on the way into the Republic of Moldova, the MIA adds.
At the same time, the Border Police estimates that the border will be more crowded towards the beginning of next week, after Easter, on the way out of the country.
Since 15 April, the four customs and border authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Romania have been jointly applying coordinated control at the Leuseni-Albița border crossing point, the entry direction into Romania. This implies a single stop on the Romanian side for all state border crossing control procedures.
