Pre-Vetting Committee starts assessing candidates for membership of the CSP

The Independent Integrity Assessment Commission for candidates for membership in the self-administrative bodies of judges and prosecutors, also known as the Pre-Vetting Commission, announces the organisation of the first round of hearings for candidates for membership in the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP), which will start on Friday 21 April and will last until 28 April.

Sixteen candidates remained in the competition for membership of the High Council of Prosecutors, after two failed the assessment following their withdrawal from the competition. In the first round of hearings, 8 candidates will be assessed.

The candidates will be heard by the Pre-Vetting Committee in the following order:

The hearings will take place in the premises of the National Institute of Justice. Civil society, media representatives may attend by prior notification to the Commission Secretariat.

The Commission also warns that filming, live broadcasting from the hearing room and photography throughout the hearings are prohibited.

The evaluation of candidates for membership of the self-administration bodies of judges (SJC) and prosecutors (PSC) involves checking their financial and ethical integrity over the last 15 years of activity.
