Nicu Popescu leaves for Brussels. He will meet several European officials
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, leaves today for a working visit to Brussels to present Moldova's contribution to the EU Enlargement Report for 2023.
The Moldovan head of diplomacy noted that "this is a historic moment in our process of accession to the Community bloc". The report comprises some 1,000 pages describing progress and reforms over the past year.
In the coming days, the head of Moldovan diplomacy will meet with the European Union High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, the Director General of the EU's Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Gert-Jan Koopman, and the Deputy Director General of the Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Katarína Mathernová.
During his visit to Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu will also discuss the organisation by Moldova of the European Political Community Summit on 1 June.
