Joe Biden could run for US presidency again in 2024
US President Joe Biden could announce his candidacy for the 2024 elections next week, several media outlets have reported, Agerpres.ro reports.
According to the Washington Post and CNN in particular, which cited unnamed sources, Joe Biden is expected to launch his presidential campaign in a video.
The Washington Post mentioned Tuesday, April 25, which coincides with the date of his 2019 announcement, when Joe Biden entered the race to defeat President Donald Trump. But the newspaper points out that Joe Biden's team's plans are not finalized and the announcement could be delayed.
Already the oldest incumbent president in US history at 80, Joe Biden would be 86 at the end of a second term, should he win it.
His main opponent in the Republican camp at the moment is Donald Trump, opening up the possibility of a rematch for the 2020 election.
Supporters of Joe Biden have indicated, however, that he sees no urgency in making his entry into the race for another presidential term official.
