Volodimir Zelenski has accepted NATO's invitation to attend the Alliance summit

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski has accepted an invitation from NATO to attend the North Atlantic Alliance Summit to be held on 11-12 July in Vilnius, Lithuania. The statement was made Friday by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's defence at the US air base in Rammstein in western Germany, according to DPA.

It is not yet known whether the Ukrainian president will attend the Vilnius summit in person or address NATO leaders via video link. For security reasons, Volodimir Zelenski's travel plans are not announced.

Note that the 11th meeting of the "Rammstein Group" is taking place in Germany today, where Western defence officials are discussing support for Ukraine. The event is also attended by Chisinau Defence Minister Anatoly Nosatyi.

In January, Anatoly Nosatyi attended a similar meeting attended by defence ministers from 55 countries, NATO allies and international partners outside the military bloc, including Moldova.
