The head of the legislature said that the authorities currently have several arguments to request the extradition of fugitive Ilan Șor from Israel and will continue the dialogue in this regard.

"The move that needs to happen is for the Prosecutor General's Office to make an approach to Parliament in which they officially inform the parliamentary institution about the court's decision. It is time for this convicted felon to have his parliamentary mandate lifted. We immediately updated the information and informed the Israeli authorities about the latest decision of the Court of Appeal. We will continue the dialogue now with more plausible arguments. Until now we were told that there is no decision, we already have a decision and this is one more reason to be more persistent", said Igor Grosu.

Recently, by a decision of the Chisinau Court of Appeal, fugitive MP Ilan Șor was sentenced to 15 years in prison in the "bank fraud" case.

By the same decision, the Chisinau Court of Appeal deprived him of the right to hold office in the banking system for five years and ordered the sum of 5.2 billion lei to be collected from the politician. Ilan Șor says the decision is illegal and his lawyers have said the ruling will be appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice.
