Klaus Iohannis pays official visit to Chile
The President of Romania Klaus Iohannis is paying an official visit to Chile today, the first of its kind in the last 10 years. The Romanian head of state will be received by his counterpart Gabriel Boric at La Moneda Palace, after which they will hold joint press statements, Agerpres reports.

According to the Presidential Administration in Bucharest, the official visit to the Republic of Chile is aimed at boosting political cooperation, economic exchanges and strengthening sectoral cooperation between the two countries. A memorandum will also be signed on cooperation in the field of emergency situations between the responsible institutions of the two countries.
The official visit to Chile is the second of a tour that the President is making in Latin America. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the President of Romania was on an official visit to Brazil, his first as head of state in 23 years.
President Klaus Iohannis is on a tour of Latin America until 26 April, ending with an official visit to Argentina.
