The Ministry of Health received 36 electric current generators from the European Commission’s strategic reserve
The Ministry of Health received a donation of 36 electric generators, offered from the RescEU strategic reserve, through the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union. The announcement was made yesterday by the European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič, at a public event.
The value of the donation is 2.8 million euros and is part of the fourth batch received during the year, said the Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco.
According to her, currently, all hospitals in the country are provided with at least one electric generator to deal with situations in the event of a breakdown in the electricity network.
"We have already received 80 generators and now, with some of them, to ensure the larger hospitals with high capacity, some hospitals will already receive the second generator. At the moment we do not have any critical situation in the hospitals. Absolutely all were secured with at least one generator that secures the critical sections," said Ala Nemerenco.
Beneficiaries of the new batch of generators will be 30 republican, district and municipal medical institutions.
We remind you that during the visit to Chisinau, the European Commissioner for crisis management handed over to the Minister of the Interior the document with the last steps to be taken by the authorities for joining the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union. Through it, the state would bring services of the highest level in disaster prevention and personnel training. Only last year, through this European mechanism, the Republic of Moldova received over 15 million euros in aid. We remind that the Republic of Moldova submitted the application for membership to the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union in September 2022.
