The Republic of Moldova will renounce some agreements with the CIS. Maia Sandu: Many of them are useless
The Republic of Moldova will renounce some agreements signed with the Commonwealth of Independent States, President Maia Sandu said in a show on Jurnal TV.
The head of state stated that some agreements are unnecessary, but in order not to harm the bilateral cooperation between our country and other states that are part of the CIS, the Cabinet of Ministers is currently analyzing all the procedures and benefits of the documents approved during the last 30 years.
"CSI stands for a series of agreements. The government is analyzing what the exit procedures are, if there are any benefits, because some target countries other than the Russian Federation. It is a longer process, because when this organization was created, agreements were signed every year for 30 years, most of them useless, which were only declarative. We want economic, commercial relations, cooperation in the energy field and somehow we have to do things at the same time so as not to harm the situation", declared the president of the Republic of Moldova.
In this context, Maia Sandu reminded that the strategic objective of the Republic of Moldova is European integration.
