European Parliament Vice-President arrested and charged in anti-corruption investigation
Greek Vice-President of the European Parliament, Eva Kaili, and three other people were arrested on Sunday and formally charged in Belgium in the investigation into suspected corruption in relation to Qatar, a judicial source told AFP, Agerpres reports.

The federal prosecutor's office did not provide any names when it announced the provisional detention of four of the six people detained in the last 48 hours. However, according to a judicial source, who wished to remain anonymous, Eva Kaili is one of the four people under preventive arrest.
The source stated that the MEP could not use her parliamentary immunity because the crime she is accused of was discovered "in flagrante delicto" on Friday.
Radio Moldova recalls that the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola last night (Saturday) ordered the withdrawal of the mandate from the position of vice-president of the Greek MEP, Eva Kaili, after she was detained on Friday evening by the Belgian judiciary in Brussels in an investigation regarding suspicions of corruption in connection with Qatar.
