The Government has launched the Investment Incentive Programme - 373. Part of the interest on loans taken out by SMEs will be compensated
The government will offset part of the interest on loans taken out by small and medium-sized enterprises. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, who today launched the Investment Encouragement Programme - 373. It aims to subsidise the business environment and develop the country's economy. The programme will be available from 1 June.
The Investment Incentive Programme - 373 has a credit ceiling for entrepreneurs of 15 million lei, Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced today. Between 400 and several thousand entrepreneurs who want to develop their businesses could benefit from the new programme. The programme has been specifically designed to give SMEs quick and easy access to finance so they can expand.
"The difference between the market interest rate and this ceiling of either 3% in foreign currency or 7% in lei will be subsidised by the government. For example, today the commercial interest rate on the market for loans up to 5 years is around 13%, so this difference between 13% and 7% will be subsidised by the Government," said the Prime Minister.
Dorin Recean also said that this program was in its infancy and would be developed over time, so that the credit ceiling in 2024 would increase to 30 million lei. According to the Prime Minister, an online platform for the Program - 373 - will be launched and will be available later.
