EU disburses 40 million euros from the macro-financial assistance package
The European Union disbursed 40 million euros as loans for the urgent needs of the Republic of Moldova and the boosting of reforms. It is about the second installment of the macro-financial assistance package worth 50 million euros. The first 10 million were disbursed at the beginning of this April.
"The disbursement of the second tranche was possible after the European Commission noted the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in strengthening the governance of the public sector, the management of public finances by adopting a new domain strategy, strengthening the rule of law and adopting a new recovery program of criminal assets", reads a press release.
We remind that, following today's disbursement, the amount of EU financial aid amounts to 100 million euros, out of the 150 million euro macro-financial assistance package that is offered in three installments.
