Dmitri Kuleba: The Transnistrian region forces Ukraine to maintain troops on the border with the Republic of Moldova
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmitri Kuleba, said that the Transnistrian region, which is not under the control of the Chisinau authorities and on whose territory the Russian army is present, forces Ukraine to maintain troops on the part of the border with Moldova.
At the same time, the official said that Kyiv will not take any action on its part, given the fact that the Transnistrian region is a matter of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, the head of Ukrainian diplomacy said in a program on TV8 .
Asked whether the Cobasna weapons depot still poses a threat to Ukraine's security, Dmitri Kuleba said that the remnants of the Soviet past, in the form of artillery shells, are very necessary for Russia because it has resorted to Soviet rarities, tanks produced in the 50s -60 and send them to the front.
We remind you that in March, the Border Police announced that the Border Guard Service of Ukraine dug trenches on the border with the Republic of Moldova. The Ukrainian side justified its actions with the intention of preventing illegal crossing of the border and stopping the phenomenon of smuggling.
