Maia Sandu, interview for Financial Times: Moldovans live in peace today only thanks to Ukraine's armed forces

Moscow is trying to rebuild the Soviet Union and control the Republic of Moldova, President Maia Sandu told the Financial Time, writes newsmaker.md. The head of state claims that Moldovans live in peace today only thanks to Ukraine's armed forces, which are "courageously" defending their country. Otherwise, Russia would not have stopped at the border, but would have invaded Moldova.

The country's president says that although Moscow has failed to start an armed war on Moldovan territory, it continues to wage a hybrid war in our country and undermine the efforts of the pro-Western government.

Maia Sandu also mentioned that Russia has always tried to control Moldova, and when it failed, it decided to resort to other measures, including street protests, taking advantage of social difficulties.
