State budget for 2023, voted in the first reading
In 2023, the revenues of the state budget will constitute 64.9 billion lei, by 9.3% more than the income reported in the current year, and the expenses will be 83.2 billion lei, higher by 12.5% . Deputies voted in the first reading the draft of the State Budget for next year.
Under the document, the state budget deficit of 18.3 billion lei will be covered from internal and external sources.Moreover, a decrease of the GDP is estimated by 3% in the current year. The Minister of Finance, Dumitru Budianschi, mentioned that the draft state budget law for 2023 is based on an economic growth of 2% and an average annual inflation level of 15.7%. The official also said that the public debt is estimated at 39.7% of the GDP at the end of 2023. Income from grants to the state budget next year is expected to be 5.5 billion lei, which is 8.5% of total revenues. The project was voted in the first reading by 54 deputies.
