Justin Trudeau on Maia Sandu's visit to Canada: 'I look forward to meeting her and the Moldovan people to thank them for standing bravely against Russian aggression'
Moldovan President Maia Sandu will pay an official visit to Canada on Thursday, May 11, where she will meet with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and hold several bilateral meetings with high-level Canadian officials. This is the first time a President of the Republic of Moldova has visited the country.
The Canadian prime minister wrote on his Twitter page that he was looking forward to meeting Maia Sandu in Ottawa, thanking her and the Moldovan people for their steadfastness and courage against Russian aggression, discussing support for Ukrainian refugees and marking progress in relations between the two countries.
In Montreal, the President will meet with the Moldovan diaspora.
On 12-13 May, Maia Sandu will be in the United States, in Chicago, where she will attend the 9th Moldovan-American Convention.
