Inflation in the Republic of Moldova dropped in April to 18.1%
Inflation in the Republic of Moldova dropped to 18.1% in April, down by 3.88% compared to March, the National Bureau of Statistics announces.
According to the NBS, average consumer prices increased this month by 2.2%. This was determined by the increase in prices of food products by 0.7%, non-food goods by 0.4% and bills by 7.5%.
For the services provided to the population, in April compared to March, price/tariff increases of 7.5% were recorded on average, especially for the supply of natural gas and thermal energy, for which, starting from April, there are no longer offered the compensations granted by the Government for the payment of energy bills for domestic consumers during the cold period of the year.
Also, in the current month of April compared to the month of March, the tariffs for electricity supply services were reduced by 4.4%.
