The status of a candidate country for EU accession represents a commitment to transform the Republic of Moldova. European integration is a strategic objective of the entire society, which can only be achieved through joint efforts, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said at the opening of the Forum for European Integration. According to her, the hybrid war with which the Republic of Moldova is threatened has become one of the biggest challenges to European integration, but there are also internal forces that oppose the EU accession process.
"Taking advantage of the poor socio-economic situation generated especially by Russia's cruel and unjust war against Ukraine, the forces of thievery and war, who see their corruption schemes threatened by our pro-European and anti-corruption agenda, and who want to annihilate our path to the free world , continues to spread lies every day about the European Union and the benefits of membership for every citizen. We need a combination of all the efforts of those who share the European creed," said the prime minister. For his part, the representative of the "Friedrich Ebert" Foundation for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova Felix Hett mentioned that the EU means not only the future, but also the present. The benefits of membership, as well as EU support, are still being felt by citizens in the context of the crises they are facing. The Forum for European Integration is in its ninth edition.
