Maia Sandu met her Icelandic counterpart in Reykjavik. What topics were discussed

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, met today with Icelandic President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson. On the occasion of 28 years of diplomatic relations with Iceland, the President discussed with her counterpart the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

*"I discussed with President Jóhannesson the bilateral cooperation between our countries and welcomed the finalisation of the negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement with EFTA, to be signed in June, which will allow us to increase trade", said the Head of State.

In this context, the two heads of state also referred to the complicated situation in our region, reiterating Moldova's commitment to contribute to maintaining peace and security in the region.

Iceland holds the presidency of the Council of Europe and the fourth summit of the organisation continues today in Reykjavik.
