Great Britain offers over one million euros to support businesses on both banks of the Dniester
Great Britain will offer almost one million pounds, the equivalent of about 1.15 million euros, to the Republic of Moldova through the AdTrade project. The money will be earmarked for increasing the export capacities of entrepreneurs on both banks of the Dniester. Sweden will also help citizens to develop small and medium-sized enterprises and overcome crises in 2022.
The AdTrade project supported 60 women entrepreneurs from the rural area and contributed to the economic improvement of vulnerable people, said the British ambassador in Chisinau, Steven Mark Fisher. According to him, the Republic of Moldova will receive one million pounds, so that entrepreneurs from both banks of the Dniester can develop businesses. “By the end of 2023, the UK will have invested £1 million in the project. This strategic investment aims to help entrepreneurs on both banks of the Dniester increase their export capabilities, especially to the European Union and Great Britain," noted Ambassador Steven Mark Fisher.
Sweden and the United Nations are contributing to the reintegration of both banks of the Dniester in terms of export, said the Swedish ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Katherine Fried. The ambassador also stated that small and medium enterprises continue to develop thanks to the project. "This impact of EU and UN participation is very important for the reintegration of both sides of the Dniester. Contributing to strengthening competitive capabilities is essential for companies from the Republic of Moldova. We want to support the development of the economy in Moldova and economic agreements", said Katherine Fried.
The AdTrade project contributes to bringing the two banks of the Dniester closer to the European Union, said the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian. The official noted that the economic sector is the most dynamic, and small and medium enterprises were able to benefit from several investments made through this project. "We are happy that this positive dynamic is gradually leading to a closer approach of our country to the European Union and these companies that took advantage of the project from both banks, took a small step, but an important step in order to bring our society closer, to the economic community on both banks of the Dniester by the European Union", specified the deputy prime minister for reintegration, Oleg Serebrian.
The "Development of export capacities on the banks of the Dniester" project expands the access of businesses from the Transnistrian region to the export promotion mechanisms available on the right bank. Furthermore, 31 entrepreneurs obtained support from Sweden and Great Britain to develop their small and medium-sized businesses. Therefore, since the launch of the project, $3 million have been invested and 270 jobs have been created on both banks of the Dniester.
